I had a rare weekend this past weekend.
I actually stayed at my own apartment and got to enjoy it by myself.
I know that sounds a bit anti-social, but I have been running my tail off, and it's so nice to take a break from everything. I did have a great visit with my mom and sis on Saturday, and then I retired to my apartment for some major laundry (I hadn't done laundry in like a month, but because of my obsession with Victoria's Secret, I did not run out of underwear) As Saturday night rolled around, I lounged around in my BCBG velour sweats, went to Blockbuster and rented The Nanny Diaries, opened a bottle of Sauv. Blanc and had a wonderful night to myself. I truly think you need those every once in a while, especially when life is crazy and things happen to you that you don't understand. The Nanny Diaries was the perfect rental - much better than the book.
Sunday brought a trip to church (and a renewal of my baptism!) then I spent all afternoon at home cleaning out my closet. Thanks to View from the Porch, I had the perfect plan, and I feel so much better knowing what's in my closet and thinning out the stuff that I don't wear.
I would strongly encourage you to do the same - it makes you feel so good and you can find out about all the clothes you have been forgetting! Plus, it just is so wonderful to see a clean closet!
I need to stop spending money - I made it to the outlet malls the other day and brought home three pairs of high quality cute shoes (they were only $20 a piece for designer shoes!) and a timeless black sheath dress from BCBG for $33 as well as an adorable red jacket for $40. I figure I should end my shopping with some great purchases!

I am also on a spending freeze. I have some serious bills to pay...yikes. Be strong!
I absolutely need to clean out my closet AND stop spending. I'll join you for 30 days - let me know when to start. In the meantime, I'll be at the mall.
Oh man. I definitely have more VS underwear than I can count, I definitely don't do laundry that often, haha.
And as for cleaning out the closet, I've been doing that too lately, it's so invigorating, I love it.

I just cleaned out my closet last weekend (filled up four garbage bags with stuff I don't wear anymore -- wha..?!). Then I organized my existing clothes by color -- from light to dark -- and it made me giddy with excitement when it was done.
It's true, cleaning your closet out is an amazing feeling... but then after a while you start to think you need to replace all of those things that you got rid of and re-fill that new found space.
Also, yes! to girls night in. It's also an amazing feeling getting chores like laundry done while being comfortable and drinking at the same time. I used to love that too back in my apartment days.
If cleaning the closet can make you feel that great I can only image how great I would feel if I would simply clean my freakin room!! I concur more shopping=endless supply of clean under garments!
Yay for cleaning out the closet - I love organizing my closet and looking at everything that I have. Its weird, I know. :)

Just stumbled across your blog. The night to yourself sounds wonderful. I wonder how I could get me one of those! Cleaning my closet might be a chore, but is something that I definitely need to work on!
Staying in with a good movie and a bottle of wine is my ultimate favorite way to spend an evening. Kudos!
I'm trying to clean out my apartment too...it's been rough! I don't want to get rid of anything!
